what is high raw veganism?

We constantly get questions about the philosophy behind a

high raw vegan diet

Our version of high raw is a blend between

raw veganism & whole food plant based

(sugar & oil free, limited salt)

We eat 51 - 75% of our daily calories from raw foods - primarily fruits.

We also include:

leafy greens

herbs

seeds

nuts

& more


Raw foods are the large majority of our daily food volume.

The rest of our calories come from:

starches

whole grains

cooked vegetables

legumes

& more

Why eat more raw?

provides Prana / life force (only a raw food can be planted & grown)

deeply hydrating, anti-inflammatory, anti-aging

allows us to eat in abundance

builds gut microbiome

dense in nutrients

nutrients intact

Why we still eat some cooked foods? 

more affordable

easier to maintain

easier to eat enough calories

easier on digestion, especially at first

fills nutritional & enjoyment gaps when fruit quality is low

humans have likely evolved to eat cooked starches & grains
